At INKD Brow Studio, your safety and results are our top priority. To ensure optimal healing and the best possible outcome, please read and follow the pre-care guidelines below before your appointment.
General Pre-Care for All Services
Pregnancy and Nursing:
We are unable to perform any permanent makeup services on clients who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
Medications and Health Conditions:
If you are taking any blood-thinning medications, Accutane, immunosuppressants, or any medication that affects blood clotting, healing, or skin integrity, please contact us before booking. In some cases, we may require written clearance from your physician.
Recreational Drugs and Marijuana:
You must not arrive under the influence of recreational drugs, marijuana (THC), or any substances that impair your judgment, increase bleeding, or affect your ability to safely undergo the procedure. This includes medical marijuana. Being under the influence can lead to excessive bleeding, poor pigment retention, and safety concerns. If you arrive impaired, your appointment will be canceled, and your deposit will be forfeited.
Pain Relievers and Supplements:
Please avoid Tylenol, Advil, ibuprofen, aspirin, sleep aids, and any other over-the-counter medications or supplements that thin the blood for at least seventy-two hours before your appointment.
Caffeine:
Skip all caffeine the day of your appointment, including coffee, energy drinks, and teas. Caffeine increases blood flow and can lead to excessive bleeding and poor pigment retention.
Alcohol:
Do not consume alcohol for at least twenty-four hours before your appointment. Alcohol also thins the blood and affects both bleeding and healing.
Sunburn or Excessive Sun Exposure:
We cannot tattoo over sunburned or compromised skin. If you arrive with sunburn, your appointment will need to be rescheduled, and your deposit will be forfeited. Tattooing over sunburned skin increases your risk of excessive bleeding, poor pigment retention, prolonged healing, and scarring. Please avoid direct sun exposure for at least seven days before your appointment.
Brow Lamination, Tinting and Waxing:
Please avoid brow lamination, tinting, waxing, threading, or any hair removal services in the brow area for at least seven days prior to your appointment. Tattooing over freshly treated or compromised skin increases the risk of irritation and poor healing.
Botox and Fillers:
If you have recently had Botox or dermal fillers near the treatment area, please wait at least four weeks before your appointment. If you plan to get Botox or filler after your permanent makeup, please wait until your tattoo is fully healed, which is a minimum of ten days post-procedure.
Breakouts or Skin Irritation:
If you develop a breakout, rash, or any form of skin irritation in the treatment area, please contact us prior to your appointment. We cannot tattoo over open lesions, active acne, or broken skin.
Additional Pre-Care for Lip Blush Clients
Cold Sores and Herpes Simplex Virus:
If you have ever had a cold sore, even once in your lifetime, it is absolutely essential to take an antiviral medication like Valtrex or an over-the-counter alternative such as L-Lysine before and after your appointment. Tattooing the lips can trigger an outbreak, even if you have not had one in years. Without preventative treatment, there is a high chance of developing cold sores, which can lead to infection, pigment loss, scarring, and delayed healing. If you are unsure about what medication to take, please consult your physician prior to your appointment.
Chapped or Dry Lips:
Begin exfoliating your lips with a gentle lip scrub at least five days before your appointment. Drink plenty of water and use a hydrating lip balm daily to ensure your lips are in the best condition for tattooing. Severely dry or cracked lips may require rescheduling.
Lip Filler:
If you have had lip filler, please wait at least four weeks before booking your lip blush appointment.
Hydration:
Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your session to help minimize dryness and improve your final results.
Additional Pre-Care for Lash Line Enhancement Clients
Contact Lenses:
If you wear contact lenses, please remove them before your appointment and bring your glasses or a contact case with solution.
Eye Makeup:
Please arrive with clean eyes and no mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, or lash extensions on the day of your service.
Appointment Day Reminders
Makeup for Photos:
You are welcome to arrive with or without makeup on your face. Professional before and after photos and videos will be taken for documentation and portfolio purposes.
Brow Makeup:
If you normally fill in your brows, feel free to arrive with your usual brow makeup. This helps us see your preferences and map your brows accordingly.
Inspiration Photos:
If you have reference photos or inspiration images for your desired shape or style, please bring them with you.
No Guests Policy:
For your safety and to maintain a calm, sterile environment, guests are not allowed in the treatment room during your procedure.
